This paper aims to understand the current state of the Turkish defence industry. For this purpose, it is essential first to explore its history, which will explain Turkey's ambition, limitations, and why it is vital for Turkey's foreign policy. Afterwards, later sections focus on Turkey's take on the defence industry while examining its role at home and abroad. Finally, to consider the sector's future, this paper will analyse the risks and expected trajectory.
