He holds a master's degree in Middle East politics from Durham University, and a doctorate in Arab political Islam and extremism from the School of African and Eastern Studies (SOAS), University of London.

He has a large collection of publications and has edited more than 100 magazines and published reports.

Founding member of the European Network for Religion and Belief, former Director of Research and Strategies at Global South (Istanbul); Research Advisor to the Global TRT Forum (2017); Founder and Executive Director at the British-Turkish Comprehension Centre.
